How to use the inventory spreadsheet
- Fill the table on this page: code, product, category, price, stock in and stock out. Use the button to add a row for each new product.
- The Balance column is calculated automatically, as stock in minus stock out. Fill in each product's minimum stock too.
- When the balance drops below the minimum stock, the table shows a warning underneath with the product and the current balance.
- Click Download filled (.xlsx) to save the file with your data, or Download template with formulas (.xlsx) to get the blank sheet with the balance formulas ready.
Each product's balance is the formula =Stock in−Stock out. For example, a product with 12 units in and 5 out has a balance of 12 − 5 = 7. If the minimum stock is 10, the warning appears under the table.

What the spreadsheet includes
- Each row has code, product and category to identify the item, and price so you know the total value of your stock.
- Each product has stock in and stock out columns, and the Balance column is calculated by the formula =Stock in−Stock out.
- Each product has a minimum stock field. When the balance falls below that number, the table warns you with the product name and balance.
- Numbers follow the format of your language, like $1,234.56, and the downloaded files keep the same format.
